Well of Numana Bassa

Add to your Wish list

The well is located close to the Costarella, near the old slaughterhouse. Built in 1875 at a cost of one thousand lire, it is attributed to the sculptor Ugolino Panichi from Ascoli, who designed the entire structure, including the central mask and was then living in Sirolo in the ex-convent of Vetta Marina. A single jet fed the three well-preserved sections, of which the two lateral ones were used as a public wash-house by the women of Numana.
