Accessible Beach
Numana for Inclusion: Services and Projects for Accessible Tourism
The Municipality of Numana actively promotes an inclusive tourism model, with the aim of ensuring the full accessibility of its coastline and accommodation experiences for everyone. Through dedicated services and the enhancement of social inclusion projects, the town is committed to removing architectural barriers and offering a complete, high-quality welcome.
The Equipped Accessible Beach for People with Disabilities
The cornerstone of this policy is the equipped accessible free beach, free of architectural barriers, located on the promenade between beach establishments n. 14 "Cavalluccio di mare" and n. 15 "Bellariva". The area is equipped with specific facilities designed to ensure maximum autonomy and comfort for visitors with motor disabilities. Services include:
- Reserved parking spaces in the immediate vicinity to facilitate arrival.
- Ramp and walkway extending from the roadway to the shoreline, for direct access to the sea.
- Two gazebos for shaded areas, an accessible bathroom and a changing room with a dedicated hot shower.
- Stations with umbrellas, raised sunbeds, and director's chairs.
- Special JOB model chairs, which allow entry and stay in the water.
- "Job walker" rollator, designed to facilitate mobility on sandy surfaces.
To guarantee the efficiency of the service, during the summer season (approximately from June 1st to September 15th), dedicated staff are present, active daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, for the management of equipment and assistance to users.
JOB Chair Supply Service to Beach Establishments
The commitment to accessibility extends to the entire coastline thanks to a free-of-charge concession service for JOB chairs, available to private beach establishments. These special aids, lightweight and resistant to seawater, facilitate mobility on the sand and entry into the water.
Beach establishment managers, should a guest express the need, can submit a request for a JOB chair by contacting the service representative, Mr. Alfredo Baiocchi, at +39 351 9555195 or via email at
The "Frollabus" Project: Social Inclusion and Local Enhancement
Numana's inclusive tourism offering is enriched by an initiative that combines gastronomic excellence with social inclusion aims: "Breakfast with Frollabus". Every Wednesday and Thursday during the summer season, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, the mobile bar of the "Frolla" social cooperative is present in front of the accessible beach.
"Frolla" is a micro-biscuit factory in Osimo that promotes the work placement of people with disabilities through high-quality artisan production. The initiative is not limited to offering a refreshment point but represents a concrete social entrepreneurship project that fosters the encounter and professional growth of the young people involved, adding significant social value to the tourist experience in Numana.
Through the synergy between dedicated public infrastructures, support services for the private sector, and collaboration with third-sector excellences, Numana qualifies as a cutting-edge destination in the field of accessible and social tourism, demonstrating a concrete commitment to hospitality that puts people at its center.
