The Blue Flag

Since 2000 Numana have been awarded with the famous “Blue Flag” eco-label, renewed in 2010 too.

THE BLUE FLAG LABEL

What does it mean “Blue Flag” for a municipality?

It means meeting the following criteria:

- cleanliness of bathing waters;
- information about sea analysis results must be displayed;
- presence of lifeguards on the beach;
- efficiency of the city purification plants;
- well connected sewage system;
- separate refuse collection;
- large pedestrian areas;
- traffic control and block;
- environmental education and information;
- access points and toilets for disabled people;
- good street furniture.
