The project carried out by Legambiente and “Associazione Albergatori Riviera del Conero” (Association for hotel managers) wants to create a program in order to manage holidays in an ecological way, by improving the quality of the stay. Such a project includes the following commitments:
1) WASTE: reducing waste produced also through their separation;
2) WATER: owners and guests have to save water thanks to new technologies;
3) ENERGY: promoting and putting into practice Energy saving and recycling, for example reducing linen to be washed or using low consumption lamps which assure the same enlighten of common lamps, after few minutes later you have turned them on;
4) FOOD AND DIET: putting much more value to local traditions and food specialities of the Conero area and of the Marche Region, for example preparing a breakfast corner made up of organic products and promoting the consumption of fruit and organic vegetable instead of GMO products;
5) MEANS OF TRANSPORT: inviting people to use public means of transport and bicycles, promoting the building of cycle or pedestrian-cycle lanes;
6) NOISES: supporting public projects in order to reduce noise near the hotel, through the creation of night pedestrian area; asking clients to turn off their mobile in the dining room;
7) SMOKE: discouraging people to smoke hanging up adequate signboards;
8) ENVIRONMENT: evaluating and promoting environment and culture by displaying agricultural products of the Conero park as well as Conero promotional objects;
9) GUESTS’ INVOLVEMENT: informing and involving guests in adhering to this project also by filling a questionnaire.
